Nerni Invents a Cleaner Robot

Once upon a time, there lived a little gnome named Nerni, who loved to invent things. She lived in a cave hidden deep in the magic forest. Every night, after an exhausting day of inventing, Nerni would sweep her workshop floor.

She didn't like cleaning up. She would rather spend time playing with her friends or inventing. But if she didn't clean up, the dust and tools and scraps of metal would soon cover the whole room. And then she wouldn't be able to invent any more. There wouldn't be any room!

One night, she was too tired to clean up, so she left the mess. When she saw the mess the next morning, she had a great idea: she would invent a robot to clean up! She built the body and head and legs and arms. But instead of attaching regular hands, she put a broom on the end of the right arm and a dust pan on the end of the left arm.

At first, the cleaning robot bumped into the tables and shelves and knocked everything to the floor. Nerni screwed and hammered and adjusted the cleaning robot until it could get around without any problem. Then it tried to sweep up her tools instead of the dirt and scraps. She screwed and hammered and adjusted the cleaning robot some more.

When she was done, the cleaning robot worked perfectly! From then on, Nerni's workshop was always clean, and Nerni always had time to invent and play.
